The investment services and wealth management market is a difficult one to negotiate. There are large corporates, product providers, accountants, financial planners, brokers and a huge range of people and organisations ready to offer advice. Pitcher Partners looked at this market and listened to our clients for a long time before deciding what we should offer. Eventually we designed a service based around what our clients wanted. They wanted comprehensive investment advice, independent of product providers and with knowledge of their complete financial situation, not just their investments. At Pitcher Partners we offer a unique service where we offer clients advice based on knowledge of all of their business and financial affairs and charge a fee for service rather than commission.

The following Investment Advisory and Wealth Management services have been identified specifically for our CPN members:

Investment Advisory Service

This service is aimed at individuals who require financial advice. However, we also offer a wealth advisory service for employers who wish to provide financial planning services to their employees as a benefit. In this instance, we would undertake a group seminar for the employees, and follow this up with a tailored strategy based on their personal needs.

The focus of this service is on longer-term structural and planning strategies and may include the following key areas:

Level of funding required to attain goals

A critical part of the planning process is to determine the level of assets required to fund your or your client’s objectives and goals. It is only after this has been determined that we are able to design a strategy to help achieve these goals.

Taxation planning

Tax can often be the largest obstacle to wealth creation. Using our deep understanding of your or your client’s financial situation, we develop legal, logical strategies to ensure that their plan is as tax efficient as possible. Our Investment and Wealth Management group is also able to call upon the expertise of our Tax Consulting division to make sure your clients receive the best advice available.

Cash flow and debt management

Through monitoring an individual's or business's cash flow and debt, we ensure that you or your clients make the most of their money as cash flow varies.

Superannuation and retirement planning

Our superannuation specialists understand all the fine detail of the rules and regulations surrounding superannuation and together with an in depth assessment of how much money you or your clients will need in retirement we can help maximise the value of superannuation as a wealth creation tool.

Effective investment structures, eg company, family trust, self-managed superannuation

Each investment structure will have different taxation and access characteristics. Because of the broad nature of the firm’s client base and our advisors' exposure to all types of investment structures, they keep these factors in mind when designing strategies for you or your clients.

Asset protection

Our advisors can assist you or your clients in identifying the steps that can be taken to protect assets so that what has been built is not lost.

Insurance and risk management

Understanding the risks to wealth and taking steps to protect it can be as important as wealth creation itself. Our advisors work closely with their clients to make sure that all risks are identified.

Estate planning

Planning what will happen to the family assets when they are passed from one generation to another is critical if wealth is to be maintained. Pitcher Partners can provide you and your client’s advice on wills, power of attorney, testamentary trusts and conduct gap analysis.

Savings plan investment recommendations

Once a strategy has been designed and agreed, we compile our recommendations bearing in mind your or your client’s circumstances, appetite for risk, and the entities that will be used to hold these investments.

Portfolio Management Service (Personal Advice)

This high level service is aimed at investors who have or wish to build a diverse investment portfolio. The service is a tailored, proactive, ongoing and intensive investment management and monitoring service where the client retains all control over investment decisions. It includes all of the services offered under the Wealth Advisory Service detailed above, plus: Priority allocations in new issues and floats.

Often, people only have the opportunity to invest in a company after it has already listed on the ASX. Frequently they find that the price required to purchase the stock has risen significantly above the listing price before they have the chance to invest. We can provide you or your client’s priority allocations to our Portfolio Management Service clients in the float.

We also open and operate bank accounts on the client’s behalf, and receive all dividends and other distributions on their investments to reduce the administrative burden on the individual.

Another feature of our Portfolio Management services is the provision of quarterly reports including detailed information on all transactions for income tax and capital gains tax purposes and we will meet regularly with you or your client to review and discuss performance outcomes.
