It’s more than just numbers…
it’s a great place to work
Working at Pitcher Partners as a graduate provides great exposure to a variety of work for different clients. The friendly atmosphere and team based environment allows for a smooth transition from university to working life. You receive plenty of guidance on how the firm operates from your fellow team members.
Graduates are exposed to as much direct client contact as possible. Staff are flexible and responsive, and everyone,including the Partners, has an approachable open-door policy. There are regular social events which means that there is ample opportunity to meet with people throughout the firm, creating useful networks and providing an opportunity for making many new friends.
The transition into our graduate program is made easy by the following –
- Pre-commencement events, these include morning teas, invitations to group functions and the annual student end-of-year party.
- Your 'buddy', a staff member who understands and has experienced first hand the excitement and challenges of being a graduate and will be there to guide you.
- Your Mentor, a manager with an established career in the firm
- Your group – it is not uncommon for graduates to quickly feel as though every member of their group is their ‘buddy’.
Some of the things you can expect in your first year as a graduate at Pitcher Partners include:
- A week long training program with your new colleagues. Our National Graduate Training Program (NGTP) is often offsite at a location such as the Gold Coast with all our graduates across Australia attending a range of technical sessions, social events, networking activities and soft skills training. Our graduates tell us that the NGTP is one of the best weeks of their lives!
- An induction week including various training and social opportunities to help you relax and start to get to know the other graduates and staff at the firm;
- Technical Training - we will introduce you to a number of technical software training (eg. PP Focus, MS Excel), bookkeeping, divisional inductions, preparation of management accounts, tax return preparation and accounting packages training;
- Tax Institute of Australia Foundations course accreditation;
- Commencement of the CA program with the help of our extensive Study Support Program;
- Professional development – includes topics such as lifestyle transitions, communicating effectively, working with teams, client responsiveness, planning and prioritising, career development and networking training.
Each year Pitcher Partners recruits a number of Graduates from a broad cross section of Universities. The recruitment process usually takes place in first semester of a student’s final year. Students are encouraged to attend University Careers Fairs and to view Current Vacancies so that they are aware of the application process and closing date.
